What does it mean to be in Christ? In the opening verses of Ephesians, the Apostle Paul introduces the truth that shapes the entire letter: every person who has trusted in the finished work of Jesus Christ has been brought into an unbreakable union with Him. Pastor Jake explains that this relationship is the defining reality of the Christian life. Because we are in Christ, His righteousness, acceptance before the Father, inheritance, and every spiritual blessing belong to us—not because of our merit, but because of God's grace. Before Paul begins unfolding these riches, he first bursts into worship, praising God for all He has accomplished through His Son.
This message calls believers to stop living as though they are spiritually poor when God has already blessed them with "all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ." Walking through Ephesians 1:1–3, Pastor Jake points us away from finding our identity in culture, status, or earthly pursuits and back to the riches that are ours in Christ. As we yield to the Holy Spirit and grow in God's Word, we learn to live more fully in the reality of our union with Christ, responding with worship for all that God has graciously given us in Him.
