Why We Are Here

The local church is a group of believers who have joined themselves together to grow in Christlikeness through the teaching of the Word (the Bible), fellowship, worship, and prayer while continuing to spread the gospel in and beyond their community.

To this end, we understand that the Church bears the awesome responsibility of “glorifying” or simply reflecting the character of God. As His people, we are to bear witness to his character, attributes, and abilities by deeply transformed lives produced by the power of the Gospel. As a group of believers, we desire to honor the One who saved us from our sin, the One who blesses us each day and the One who invites us into the work He is doing.

From the overflow of the grace Jesus has extended to us, we collectively and individually strive to make the Gospel known. We develop the life of Christ in ourselves and fellow believers through study, discipleship, and simply walking through life together, pointing one another to Christ and encouraging each other in the gospel. Simple, but not easy.

As a church, we feel like being a place “where the Bible is taught and people are loved” captures the essence of who we are, and what it is to be a believer. We have all been saved by grace, received unmerited favor, and are to love, serve, and live from a place of being nothing more than redeemed sinners who are humble and grateful for what we have received. We are to be submitted to a sovereign, holy, and good God - ready to share the same kind of kind of sacrificial love Jesus has shown to us. We don’t do this perfectly, but we do have Christ’s example. We seek to follow his example through Bible study, community, worship, prayer, and a life lived out with Christ at the center.
